  • The latest update on this is that there isn't much of an update.

There is a lot of in between and waiting going on in my life right now and it is kind of frustrating when I think too much about it.  I just want things to be figured out and over with now.  I know it si going to take some time, but if things could all figured out by the time I go to Germany in May, I will be really happy.

Spring break was awesome and I had a really nice time in Wisconsin.  The MAYSO concerts went really well too and I miss it already.

I hope that you all are having a very happy Easter weekend!

    Hugs!

  • Help!!!

Now that I have your attention :)

I am looking for an old school slide projector that I can borrow for June and July while I am at camp. I promise that I will return it in good condition and keep it in a locked room while it is not being used. It would only be used once a week for about an hour and a half at most.

If you have one and are willing to let me borrow it, please let me know!!!

    Thank you so much!!

  • For the first time in exactly one year my sister feels better and has been able to hang out with friends and enjoy herself without feeling worse the next day.

It is either a miracle or the result of facebook and Shakespeare   I'm going to go with the first option

  • This past week has been a crazy adventure.

I am finally feeling myself after the whole ordeal and it is wonderful!

I am really thankful for everything that I have in my life.

  • Once again, it has been awhile.  I was a long term sub in River Falls for the month of January and it was a great opportunity and I loved every minute of it!   So many good stories and they were so sweet - I am excited to go back in March and play for the choir concert.  We had a concert the second week I was there and it went sooo well!!  The picture below is at the house from after the concert.  My family was able to come up for it and we got together with Tim's family afterwards and it was a lot of fun :)

I am now back in Mankato taking graduate classes to keep my student status while I wait to find out about grad schools.  I will find out about things mid-March and if that doesn't work out I'll be looking for a full time orchestra job.  It will be exciting to see where I end up in the fall

I just started taking classes this week (the 4th week of classes for MSU) and its kind of strange.  Its really different not knowing everyone in the PA and kind of jarring in some ways.  I really like my two classes and I am enjoying orchestra and looking forward to cello lessons.  It should be a good semester.  I will have time when I need it to start getting plans for the fall finalized.

I signed up today to be a substitute teacher in Mankato and I am really looking forward to that as well.  I hope that I will be able to do it at least one day a week, hopefully both that I am able to.  I think that will help keep me sane.  I'm still working at Perkins (starting in 2 weeks) and I am so excited to get back there and see all of the awesome people that work there.

The other thing going on in my life is that I am heading to Germany for two weeks in May on a trip lead by the music department.  Its really cool that it is finally happening and that I am able to go.  I had a conversation with the person leading it several years ago about how "wouldn't it be cool if the music department did a trip abroad?"  We are going to be based in Munich for the two weeks and explore that area - I am so stoked!!!

An update on family things:  my sister is still not doing well and it has almost been a year.  A miracle of some sort is way past overdue.  My parents are doing well overall and thats good.  I am still getting adjusted to living full time at home (instead of just the weekends) but things are getting smoother (and that is really nice).

I hope everything is doing well for you - take care and have a great weekend!

    This week = awesome

    -Finishing up the Virginia trip
    -Made some crunchy granola
-Went on a date and saw "Enchanted"
-Saw a shooting star and it the timing was magical
-Had my first three days of subbing and overall they went very well - its fun actually being THE teacher!

Lots of other things have been awesome too, but I'm about ready to hit the hay.  My year is off to a good start and I hope yours is too!

  • The interview did go well on Friday!!!  I got a call yesterday offering me the job!  I'll be a substitute band director for the month of January and I am stoked!  It should be an awesome experience in itself, and with some added perks that really don't have much to do with the job

The only downside - a mound of paperwork for licensure that needs to be completed as soon as I graduate.
I know what I'll be doing on Sunday! (after the MAYSO concert)

In other news - tomorrow is my last day of student teaching.  There is a chance that I am going to cry...

Also arriving tomorrow - my grandparents and uncle from the Houston area and Tim :)   It should be a good weekend and then its off to Midwest next week after the concert!!!

    Here I go!

  • Wow - its been awhile since I last posted.  I have been finishing up my student teaching at Farmington High School with the Wind Ensemble and loving every minute of it!  I haven't really had the time to write much with all of the extra assignments that have been needed for student teaching but on hte MSU side of things -they are all finished!  I have one more week at FHS - and then a concert on Monday the 17th with the wind ensemble and choirs there.  Its at 6 and 8pm - message me if you want or need directions.

It is somewhat surreal that I graduate one week from tomorrow.  I am excited though - to find out what path my life will take next.  I just had an interview for a month long sub job and I feel like I did well - I'll find out mid-week next week!

I hope you all are doing well - here is a list of concerts coming up:

Mankato Symphony Orchestra - Sunday, December 9 - 3pm - Alltell Wireless Center
Mankato Area Youth Symphony Orchestra - Sunday, December 16 - (with the MCC) at Christ's Chapel
Farmington High School Wind Ensemble and Choirs - Monday, December 17 - 6pm and 8pm

Then its off to River Falls, then Midwest in Chicago then River Falls again, back to Mankato, then River Falls once more before leaving for Virginia and then back in January.  It is going to be somewhat crazy, but a good time and I am excited about it :)

I'll leave you with a few pics from Thanksgiving - The Seymour family pic, the Christine, Abby and Tim Christmas Card Picture, and the Christine and Abby can take a decent picture the first time picture ;)
